AMARYL® MSR 2 mg / 500 mg TABLETS are a combination antidiabetic medication containing glimepiride and metformin in a modified/sustained-release formulation.


Glimepiride stimulates insulin secretion from the pancreas, while metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity.


The sustained-release (MSR) form allows gradual release of metformin, helping provide prolonged blood sugar control and improved gastrointestinal tolerability.


This combination is used when diet, exercise, or single therapy is insufficient to control blood glucose in type 2 diabetes mellitus.


AMARYL® MSR should be used under medical supervision with regular monitoring of blood glucose levels.
