What Are the Benefits of This Supplement?

  • Flaxseed oil, also known as Linseed oil, is an excellent natural source of Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) which is an Omega-3 fatty acid. As the body is unable to produce them, Omega-3 fatty acids are essential additions to the diet.
  • Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels. This beneficial effect can be found with a daily intake of 2g of ALA from food and supplements.

    I really like those products and I am always satisfied by Holland and Barrett.
    If you are on fruits and veg diet or just on the healthy path, the flaxseed is a must have, it will help you .

  7. CONTAINS ANIMAL BODY PARTS

    For people who have previously bought H&B�s Flaxseed 500mg and make the reasonable assumption that the 1000mg contains the same ingredients...
    For some bizarre reason unknown to me, H&B have added gelatine to the 1000mg capsules??
    The 500mg capsules remain safe to consume for those who don�t wish to consume bits of dead cow with their vitamins in the morning...
    I�m sure the majority of people purchasing flaxseed from H&B are vegetarian or vegan it being a suitable substitute for fish oils, so I am quite confused as to why H&B feels the need to do this.
    If you scroll right down, the ingredients do list gelatine, however if like me you regularly buy the 500mg and are considering the 1000mg - assuming the ingredient list is the same - hopefully you will read this review and avoid making the same mistake I did.
    What a waste of money!

    Ordered these tablets and was very impressed with the speed of the delivery and the tablets themselves. Will order again - always use Holland and Barrett for our tablets. As we live in Spain we are thrilled that they now offer Holland & Barrett Espana too - although it is always worth price checking the two sites for your chosen tablets as the price can vary quite a bit!

  10. great alternative to fish oil capsules

    I used to take omega 3 6 & 9 capsules sourced from fish oils. However I stopped taking them a they left an unpleasant after taste in my mouth (tasted of fish). However with flaxseed there is no after taste.
