Janumet XR Tablets contain two medications, sitagliptin and extended-release metformin, and are used to help lower blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes, alongside diet and exercise. It is not suitable for patients with type 1 diabetes. Janumet XR works in three ways to help control blood sugar: it boosts insulin production from the pancreas, helps the body use the insulin it produces more effectively, and reduces the amount of sugar produced by the liver.
