Description
Tri-Luma® Cream is the only FDA-approved topical treatment specifically designed to reduce the appearance of moderate-to-severe facial melasma. It combines three active ingredients- Fluocinolone acetonide (0.01%), hydroquinone (4%), and tretinoin (0.05%) to target different aspects of melasma. Fluocinolone acetonide is a mild corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation and limits melanin production. Hydroquinone acts as a depigmenting agent, interrupting melanin synthesis to lighten and even out skin tone. Tretinoin enhances skin cell turnover and aids pigment elimination while improving the effectiveness of hydroquinone. Clinical studies show that 77% of users experienced complete or near-complete clearing of melasma by week 8. While Tri-Luma Cream can significantly improve skin appearance, it is not a cure and should be used alongside sun protection measures.
