- Open the Ventolin Diskus by holding the outer case and sliding the thumb grip until it clicks. Hold the device horizontally and slide the lever fully to expose the dose. Exhale fully, away from the diskus. Place the mouthpiece between your lips and inhale deeply and steadily through your mouth. Hold your breath for about 10 seconds, then exhale slowly. Close the diskus by sliding the thumb grip back to its original position.
