What Are the Benefits of This Supplement?

  • Flaxseed oil, also known as Linseed oil, is an excellent natural source of Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) which is an Omega-3 fatty acid. As the body is unable to produce them, Omega-3 fatty acids are essential additions to the diet.
  • Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels. This beneficial effect can be found with a daily intake of 2g of ALA from food and supplements.

    I have been using it for a year now and it has helped my back pain. I notice improvement in my hair and skins.

    I take Starflower Oil and I am finding it very difficult to distinguish between the Flaxseed and the Starflower Oil.

    I was told in May this yaer that my Cholesterol level was a bit too high and was advised to take Statins. I didn't want to take the Statins so did some research and saw that Linseed Oil was 'supposedly' good for maintaining healthy Cholesterol levels. I started to exercise more regularly and cut down on things that were not good for Cholesterol and also bought six months supply from Holland & barrett. I have just had another Cholesterol test and my Doctor informs me that my level has gone up! Overall conclusion is that Flaxseed oil in no way helps in reducing Cholesterol. Very dissapointed and would not recommend anyone to buy this product with the intention that it may help reduce Cholesterol. I can make no comment on any of the other benefits of taking this supplement.
