Losartan, sold under the brand name Cozaar, is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).
Losartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) that blocks a substance that causes blood vessels to tighten, allowing the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.
Cozaar is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure in adults and children at least 6 years old.
