Govils Gentian Violet Antiseptic First Aid Solution is an antiseptic used for minor wound care. It has weak antibacterial effects and may be used on minor cuts and scrapes to reduce the risk of infection. This dye is said to have anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anthelmintic, anti-trypanosomal, anti-angiogenic and anti-tumor properties. As an antiseptic dye, Govils Gentian Violet can be also used to treat fungal infections of the skin (e.g., ringworm, athlete's foot).
