D-Chiro-Inositol (DCI) is part of the inositol family. It is a secondary messenger in insulin signal transduction and it helps reduce insulin resistance. DCI has an essential role in the pathways of mitochondria that generate energy from sugar. DCI improves the metabolism of sugar and moderates the metabolism of glucose and sensitivity to insulin.
