Amlodipine, on the other hand, inhibits the influx of calcium ions across cell membranes, particularly in vascular smooth muscle cells. This leads to vasodilation and a reduction in peripheral vascular resistance, further lowering blood pressure. Exforge 10mg/160mg Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults when either amlodipine or valsartan alone is not enough. High blood pressure can lead to severe health problems like heart disease, and by lowering blood pressure.
