Flaxseed oil, also known as Linseed oil, is an excellent natural source of Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) which is an Omega-3 fatty acid. As the body is unable to produce them, Omega-3 fatty acids are essential additions to the diet.
Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels. This beneficial effect can be found with a daily intake of 2g of ALA from food and supplements.

A useful addition

I have been using Flaxseed for a few years now and do find it helpful with easing joint aches due to age wear and tear. Seems to help me be a bit more flexible and less stiff but I do daily exercises as well which are important too.
